Here at Elite Life Castings & Keepsakes, we pride ourselves on producing high quality Life Casts.

To help us with this, we only use the finest quality materials when taking the moulds and making your casts.

A gel-like material is used to make a mould of the hand/foot or bodypart being cast. The non-toxic, skin safe material is derived from seaweed and is gentle enough to use on even the most delicate of newborn skin.

We have no age restrictions - the youngest baby I have personally cast was only a few hours old and the eldest to date a lady who was 93 years young! Life casting is suitable for all the family…. including the pet dog!

I individually prepare the moulding gel dependant on who I am casting and the type of life cast we are creating.

During this session clients are also invited to view and select their frame and cast colours.

Following the appointment, the moulds are filled and demoulded several hours later to reveal the raw cast. It is super important that casts are allowed to dry fully before being machine cut, sanded and detailed before moving on to the latter stages of sealing, painting/airbrushing to the desired finish. To satisfy quality standards my lead time is typically 10-12 weeks from the casting session.

Most castings take place in our studio in south Cheshire, however if this is not possible, a home or hospital visit may be requested for those unable to travel to our studio (additional charges apply). We are often asked to visit loved ones in hospices for those nearing the end of their life, as well as funeral homes for memorial/bereavement castings.

For beloved pets, we can also attend your home or veterinary practice to take a lasting keepsake of your fur baby.
